- 레드햇 엔터프라이즈 리눅스 소스를 빌드 (레드햇 상표 제거 등 약간의 수정은 있음)
- 버전도 레드햇을 따라감
- 2020-12-09 CentOS 8 은 2021년 말까지 지원후 CentOS Stream에 집중하기로 함(CentOS 7 은 예정대로 2023년 까지 지원) [1]
